Program Overview The Vision Academy Teen Safe Driver Program is a focused, 4-hour course that teaches teens the essential skills for confident, responsible driving. Designed and delivered by motorsports professionals on a closed course, this program emphasizes car control, safety, and real-world vehicle dynamics to prepare young drivers for the road.
What Teens Will Learn
Fundamental car control: vehicle balance, throttle/brake modulation, smooth steering inputs, and posture.
Vehicle dynamics: weight transfer, understeer vs. oversteer recognition, cornering lines, and how vehicle behavior changes with speed and surface.
Advanced braking techniques: threshold braking, trail braking basics, and avoiding lock-up in emergency situations.
Situational awareness & defensive driving: scanning, hazard recognition, spacing, and decision-making under pressure.
Manual transmission proficiency: hands-on instruction in clutch control, smooth shifting, hill starts, and gear selection.
Safe habits: pre-drive checks, seat/hand position, distraction avoidance, and risk management strategies.
